Keynote Talks

Every year, Podcast Movement features many amazing headliners on the main stage. Whether it’s an up-and-coming independent podcaster presenting what they’ve learned, or a high-profile podcasting star telling you what it takes to get to the next level, these keynote talks are entertaining and inspiring!

Individual Breakout Sessions

Most sessions at Podcast Movement are considered individual breakout sessions. Each session is a part of a specific track, with a focus on a specific subject that fits within that track category. These sessions are usually lead by one or two speakers.

Panel Discussions

One of the best things about Podcast Movement is the element of collaboration and the opportunity to learn valuable insights from others. With this in mind, we offer a dedicated panel room that hosts 3 to 5 experts discussing a given topic during every breakout time slot. There will usually be a moderator that will guide that discussion and facilitate Q&A from audience members.

Fireside Chats

Gather “around the fire” with your fellow attendees and an expert moderator in a more small, intimate setting to discuss specific topics that you might not have had the chance to cover anywhere else. Whether the session is topic-based or focused on different podcasting niches, they will all be valuable additions to your experience at Podcast Movement!

Table for Three

This exciting new format gives you get a chance to be a fly-on-the-wall during a high-level conversation between three podcasters or industry influencers. Whereas a panel is a moderated discussion, Table for Three is a chance to hear these experts “talk shop” with one another and give you a unique insight into the speakers.

AMA Stage

The Q&A Stage has an all new name, but the same great format! We select an industry expert who has answers, and invite you to show up with the questions! Some of the sessions will have specific topics, others more generic. But they will all be awesome additions to your PM experience!

PMx Competition

In 2015, we hosted the first ever PMx TED-like talks for the podcast community. These short form talks are bare bones, to the point, and very informative! Slideshows are prohibited, but props and expertise are welcomed and encouraged. The grand prize of last year’s PMx competition was a guaranteed speaking spot at the next year’s event! We’re continuing the tradition this year, as PMx will be on the big stages of Podcast Movement in front of hundreds of fellow podcasters and attendees the day before PM18 officially kicks off. And new for this year, there has been a competition element placed on the PMx talks! While the talk formats has not changed, a panel of judges will score each talk, and the highest scored talk will not only take home the PMx Competition award, but also be recognized on stage at the Academy of Podcasters Awards, and will be automatically given a speaking spot at Podcast Movement 2018!

Format

A suite of carefully prepared 18 minute talks, demonstrations, and performances that cover a wide range of subjects. These sessions are used to foster learning, inspiration, and above all, provoke conversations that matter. With no slide decks or videos, focus will solely be on the speaker.

Topics

PMx will present multiple issues and a diversity of voices from many podcasting perspectives and niches.

Community-driven and bias-free content

PMx is organized by volunteers from the podcasting community and lacks any commercial agenda. Its goal is to spark conversation, connection, and community.

What PMx is not:

PMx is not a marketing conference. It isn’t limited to one topic or field, and it isn’t used to sell something. PMx is not organized by or for special-interest political, religious, or commercial groups. PMx is not a platform for professional speakers, such as motivational speakers or professional life coaches. Its purpose is to give a platform to those who don’t often have one, but have great contributions to give to the podcasting space. PMx is not focused on entrepreneurship, business, or technology. Diversity of topics is key!
